Chapman Eastway has always respected the right of its clients to privacy. Your privacy will be maintained to ensure we protect the trust you place in us as your accountants and advisers.

1. Chapman Eastway has created this Privacy Policy and Collection Statement (together referred to as "this Privacy Policy ") in order to demonstrate its firm commitment to privacy.

2. Chapman Eastway is bound by the Privacy Act and the National Privacy Principles (NNPs).

3. Chapman Eastway will update this privacy policy as required.

4. Please note that if at any time Chapman Eastway is required by law to release information about you or your organisation, Chapman Eastway must cooperate fully.

5. This Privacy Policy does not apply to acts or practices of Chapman Eastway that are directly related to employee records of current or former employees.

WHAT SORT OF INFORMATION DOES CHAPMAN EASTWAY COLLECT?

6. Chapman Eastway collects information about you in a number of different ways, for example:

Chapman Eastway collects information when you engage the firm so that Chapman Eastway may provide you with accounting / tax / business advice and other primary purpose services;

(b) directly from you, when your provide information by telephone or in documents;
(c) when you send Chapman Eastway an e-mail, we may collect your e-mail address and other information contained in the e-mail message and attached file/s.
(d) from third parties such as banks or financial providers where you have requested our assistance.

If you visit our web site to read or download information, our web server will record your server address, domain name, date and time of your visit to our site, pages viewed and the information downloaded. This information is used solely for statistical and web site development purposes.

Should you decide to submit information to us using any of our online forms (for example, our feedback or recruitment pages) we will request that you detail all or some of the following personal information: name, e-mail address, address, telephone number/s, company, information specific to your request.  Some of the ways in which we use the information you have provided to us via our website include:

  • If you submit a request to subscribe, we will add your details to the particular subscription list.
  • If you submit feedback, we will forward your submission to our web development team, or the appropriate team member pertaining to your submission.
  • If you submit a recruitment application, we will forward your details to the contact person shown on the recruitment application form.
  • The information may also potentially be used to inform you of any forthcoming Chapman Eastway events that might be of interest to you.

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU DO NOT PROVIDE THE INFORMATION?

7. We require certain information from you to enable us to provide you with the service/s for which you engaged us. Only necessary information will be sought.

WHY DOES CHAPMAN EASTWAY COLLECT THE INFORMATION AND HOW IS YOUR INFORMATION USED BY CHAPMAN EASTWAY?

Chapman Eastway collects information to provide you with a specific service/s. For example, we may use information you provide us to complete your annual tax return or provide specific business advice.

9. Chapman Eastway also uses information to send you information (either by e-mail or post) that you request. If at any time you receive material that you did not request, or do not want to receive such material any more, please notify the Privacy Officer using the details mentioned below.

 HOW WILL CHAPMAN EASTWAY KEEP YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION SECURE?

14. Chapman Eastway has in place security measures designed to protect against the loss, misuse and/or alteration of the information under its control.

(a) Chapman Eastway’s computer system is protected with state-of-the-art ‘firewalls’ against unauthorised access.
     All back-ups are secured on-site and under security off-site;

(b) All Chapman Eastway staff are bound by confidentiality clauses in their employment agreements;

(c) Entry to Chapman Eastway’s office may only be obtained via security doors accessed with a six-digit PIN.

(d) A Video surveillance camera is operational 24 hours per day, Monday to Friday to the entry area of Chapman Eastway’s office.

(e) Chapman Eastway provides for the secure destruction of documents.

ACCESS TO, CORRECTING & UPDATING YOUR INFORMATION

16. Chapman Eastway gives you the following options for accessing and modifying information previously provided:

     (a) You may gain access to information that Chapman Eastway has collected about you, by contacting the Privacy Officer using the information mentioned below. We will not charge you for responding to such a request, unless we incur costs in providing the information.
(b) If you believe that any information that we hold about you is inaccurate or out of date, please contact us and we will review and correct the relevant information.
