Stuart heads the firm's management advisory division as well as servicing his own accountancy and taxation clients. As the firm's management advisory partner, he provides consulting services to clients of other partners and external assignments.

To assist in blending his management accounting advice to the practicalities of operating a business, Stuart has undertaken additional marketing training. This enables him to provide more focused advice on improving business profitability.

A special area of interest to Stuart is primary production. He has been involved in strategic planning for many large-scale producers, conducted due diligence on a number of corporate acquisitions in this field and is a specialist in the taxation of primary producers.

Stuart lectures at professional development seminars run by the Institute of Chartered Accountants. In addition, he is a contributor to Business and Tax Essentials audio tapes and a spokesman for the Institute of Chartered Accountants on rural and regional matters.

Andrew Carter CA

Andrew is responsible for a portfolio of high net wealth individuals, taking an active management role in many of their affairs. He is often seen as the custodian of the family’s financial affairs and is a key trusted advisor in their decision-making.

Andrew has a strong technical background and provides specialist advice in taxation, particularly estate planning and the structuring of entities to minimise adverse tax impacts.

He maintains a strong interest in the primary production sector, having advised many of the country’s largest agricultural companies. Andrew has a strong personal interest in investments and has developed expertise in superannuation and other wealth building strategies.

Much of Andrew’s work has been in processing and sorting out other people’s complexities. He has undertaken a number of investigative assignments involving intensive examination and reconstruction of financial statements. This often leads to a further assignment to restructure and simplify management going forward, so as to maximise tax effectiveness and efficiency of the operating structures.

Andrew is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, a Fellow of the Tax Institute of Australia and is a Justice of the Peace.

Sean has a client portfolio of business entrepreneurs building wealth. He takes an active role in helping clients turn their ideas in to action and then capitalising on the added value created. His technical skills are built on his broad experience in business services across many industries and types of business.

Sean’s strong tax background has been developed with a business consulting focus through working with Stuart Black. In this regard he is involved in a number of corporate advisory activities and has developed cross border expertise, particularly with the United States. The combination of these skills enables Sean to deliver practical business advice that adds to clients’ bottom line.

The other side of Sean is his trusted advisor role to families. In this role he is involved extensively with estate and succession planning issues and takes a leading role in mentoring and counselling families.

Having specialist knowledge on superannuation, and in the design and implementation of pensions, Sean provides valuable input to clients approaching retirement.

Sean is a contributor to the Australian Grapegrower and Winemaker Magazine and has done a number of media presentations. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia.

Anthony is responsible for managing a diversified portfolio of clients. He delivers advice on business and investment structuring, financing, income tax and capital gains tax advice for business and investment transactions, superannuation, remuneration packaging, cash flow and budgeting, asset transitions between generations, estate planning and strategic philanthropy.

Anthony’s work is divided between assisting small to medium sized businesses and family counselling. The business side includes helping start-up businesses with their business plans, establishment of systems, implementation of management accounting, funding, performance management and tax planning through to liquidation and legal obligations. Family counselling concentrates on estate planning and tax minimisation advice, delivered in a holistic, tailored and sensitive way to take into consideration the needs of each particular family.

A distinct area of interest to Anthony is the financial market and property development. Anthony has acquired an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the taxation and accounting requirements for investors, self managed superannuation funds and licensed Investment Dealers as well as the structuring of property transactions.

Anthony works with a number of private clients in pursuing their philanthropic interests, has established Prescribed Private Funds for the families and acts as a responsible person for such funds.

Richard’s client portfolio is diverse. He and his team provide accountancy and tax compliance services to both his own clients and those of other partners. He has a strong tax grounding and extensive experience on which to base his advice.

A big part of Richards’s role is advising families. Richard takes on a confidant role to many of these families. He has a trusted advisor role that works with the family members to achieve their financial goals, while at the same time maintaining family harmony. Much of this work relates to estate planning but Richard also looks after the interests of a number of overseas families with Australian interests.

As a registered company auditor, Richard oversees the audit of many of the firms’ clients’ superannuation funds.

In addition to his accountancy work, Richard is a director and a member of the management team of a large multinational company and its numerous subsidiaries operating in Australia. This close association with the company began when he was originally appointed the group's company secretary.

Richard is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and an Associate of the Institute of Secretaries.

Khamishah’s client portfolio concentrates on the compliance needs of professionals and investors. In this role she and her team attend to the day-to-day accounting and taxation requirements of her clients and the compliance needs of other partners clients.

She brings a tremendous amount of experience and expertise to ensuring that clients’ compliance needs are met efficiently and on a timely basis. Khamishah provides the whole Chapman Eastway team with a ready reference source on dealing with the Australian Taxation Office and other government bodies.

Her area of speciality is in professional services. Khamishah has a deep understanding of the issues impacting the medical and legal profession, in particular and the operation of the relevant tax sections and rulings as they effect these professions.

Khamishah undertakes many of the firms’ audits of superannuation funds and advises on general superannuation issues.

Khamishah is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and a CPA. She holds a degree in Bachelor of Commerce and a Diploma of Education. She is fluent in Bahasa Malaysian.

Andy joined our senior ranks in 2009 from the PricewaterhouseCoopers Private Client Services division, where he worked for over 10 years.

Andy provides tax compliance and advice to high net wealth individuals and families and manages a diverse portfolio of clients at Chapman Eastway.  He also plays a senior role in the superannuation team, specialising in retirement advice, including termination payments, superannuation strategy and self managed superannuation fund matters.

 

Andy is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and the Taxation Institute of Australia.  Andy is also an accredited SMSF Specialist AdvisorTM member of the Self-Managed Super Fund Professionals Association of Australia.

Christopher Osborne CA

Chris graduated from the University of Melbourne and commenced his career undertaking privatisation projects for the Victorian State Government. Chris moved to Sydney in 2003 and joined an advisory firm assisting government in the financial evaluation of major public works. From there, he joined PricewaterhouseCoopers providing assurance and advisory services to the financial services industry.

Chris was admitted as a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 2006. Chris is also a Chartered Financial Analyst, a globally recognised qualification in the finance industry.

Academically, Chris provides training in taxation and auditing and has taught at the University of New South Wales and Curtin University.

Chris supports the firm’s corporate advisory services and provides research on specialist tax advice. His background in finance provides him with a unique perspective on clients’ financial requirements, including available sources of funding, the operation of global financial markets and legislative and regulatory compliance requirements (in Australia and various international jurisdictions).

Chris’ academic background gives him the research skills necessary to investigate complicated tax matters and provide specialist tax advice.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Business degree, majoring in Finance and Accounting from the University of Technology, Sydney and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.

Michael joined Chapman Eastway in January 2005 and manages a diverse group of clients including both private and corporate clients. In addition to his compliance role, Michael contributes to the firm's business advisory division where he consults on a wide range of corporate advisory services including corporate restructures and business valuations.

Michael has a special interest in the establishment and running of Self Managed Superannuation Funds, including the provision of taxation advice in this area.

Michael is a CA Programme facilitator for the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. This keeps him involved with the profession and up to date on technical matters.
